burdened down by the weight of hate,
her streets wrapped in fear, desolate.

I walked the streets of a lonely city
filth blown by care-less winds,
her streets littered with the desolate.

I walked the streets of a lonely city
full of dampened spirits without hope,
remembering a time not desolate.
