, "to deviate," or "to change from the original." Dévient
in art terms, is making one thing become something else. In English, dévient
becomes "deviant." Most often this word conjurers up images of some sort of aberrant or abnormal, person. And surely, the feature images for this post, speaks to that. Yet, as in the French, the word at its root means simply "nonconformity." In art, "Deviant/Dévient Art is merely art that follows a different set of rules that what is usually expected of art, be it graphics or photography.
