My atelier is a hands-on and "body-in" exploration of space. I do, however, realize that this is of little value if nothing comes of it. My goal is that my exploration will (1) provide me with insights into new paradigms, and (2) have application to larger issues that effect our understanding and use of space, physical and spiritual.

Urban Paradoxes The mission of Urban Paradoxes is to (1) document the urban experience, and (2) create and defend sustainable, vital, dynamic urban neighborhoods. We believe (1) that urbanism is about people, not politics, buildings, or infrastructure, (2) good urbanism involves sustainable husbandry of human and natural environments, and (3) dynamic neighborhoods create a dynamic city.  Interested in hiring Urban Paradoxes? SpaceLab Understanding the spirit of space as place. A collaborative lab dedicated to the production, documentation, & presentation of the transformation of space into place. Of particular interest are those projects that (1) intersect & punctuate, literally and figuratively, everyday practice, (2) heighten symbolic values common to all, (3) explore new paridigms to enhance neighborhood revitalization.  Interested in collaborating or perhaps hosting a SpaceLab? Please email me.
Wandersmänner We become the flâneur – "the idle man-about-town" – learning how both our imagination and urban "symbols" play an important role in demonstrating that everyday life has particular value when it takes place in the gaps of larger contexts. In so doing we learn to see and examine that which we often miss on the everyday landscape; using our observations to frame questions pertinent to cultural evolution and vitality.  Interested in participating in or hosting a drift in your area? Please email me.   This is an especially helpful project for neighborhood organizations and communities of faith to better understand their neighborhoods.
FutureVision A shared vision for the future begins with acknowledging the present, and the stories that have led to the present. It is in these stories that we find the kernals of the future, the beginnings of shared vision. Using "open conversation" methodology, neighborhood assessment and mapping tools we assist neighborhoods in giving birth to their own unique future visions —— Visions that lead to sustainable futures.  Does your neighborhood or organization need help in creating a shared vision for the future? Please email me.
Ministry Model Learning to live as a radical Christian in the Borderlands between two Cultures: That of the divine and that of the world: The divine call to the Shepherd-Pastor-Teacher is to be the Pilgrim's staff as they make their way through the Borderlands. The divine call to the Community of Faith is to be a way-station within the Borderlands, a place of rest, nourishment, and encouragement, both for the Wayfarer and the Pilgrim.  Expanded   Explore this model with Frank: email
I can assist the urban community of faith (1)in assessing its neighborhood with an eye toward ministry, (2)in visioning the urban ministry potential, (3 in creating sustainable urban ministry, and (4)in developing a practical theology of urban ministry that revolves around justice, mercy, and humility.  For more information please email me.
