A Larger Table: Seeing the Face of God in the Ordinary is about expanding our "dining room table" – whether or not we believe in a God – to accommodate those around us, no matter their gender identity, race or religious and political perspectives.

A Larger Table: Seeing the Face of God in the Ordinary is about building a spiritual community – personally and corporately – that has a Table large enough to accommodate everyone, no exclusions.

A Larger Table: Seeing the Face of God in the Ordinary is about building a spiritual community – personally and corporately – that has a Table large enough accommodate the entirety of the ordinary, both animate and inanimate.

A Larger Table is needed. But first we must learn to see!

A Larger Table: Seeing the Face of God in the Ordinary recognizes that learning to see the Face of God and then to build a Table large enough to accommodate all of life is a hard and messy endeavor. My hope is that within the pages of this website we will find inspiration as we together learn to see the Face of God in the ordinary and together build a Larger Table.

A Larger Table: Seeing the Face of God in the Ordinary flows from three streams:
1. The belief that the Incarnational Face of God can be seen in the entirety of the universe, not only humanity. To see the Face of God in the universe we need to reimagine the Incarnation of the Logos to be more than the Advent and life of Jesus.
2. The belief (in the Celtic Christian idea) that all of nature is charged with a spark of the divine. And that nature is the “Second Testament” to the nature of God.
3. The belief that for the future of community – and life – to must see the Face of God in all things, animate and inanimate and then build a table large enough to authentically accommodate without exception.
